The Northland Collaborative for Environment, Community, and Justice formed on February 19th, 2025 in the wake of the closing of Northland College. Our commitment is to ensuring that the spirit of Northland College lives on in a way that is an asset to our community and our region.

Mission
The Northland Collaborative is a place-based educational community grounded on the south shore of Lake Superior, where participants engage in integrative learning to cultivate wonder, agency, and responsibility. We empower our community to act with the integrity and courage needed to lead meaningful, joyful lives in a changing world.
The Northland Spirt (Values)
Our values guide decisions about goals and strategies. We evaluate emerging options for the extent that they support our values. We value:
- Radical Interdependence: We prioritize reciprocal relationships between students, neighbors, sovereign Anishinaabe Nations, and all the beings of the watershed.
